Types of Reclaimed Flagstone
York Stone
The king of flagstones. York stone is a fine-grained sandstone quarried in Yorkshire, prized for its warm buff and grey tones and exceptional durability. Reclaimed York stone slabs develop a beautiful surface patina that no new stone can replicate.
Our stock includes random-sized slabs ideal for traditional crazy paving as well as sawn-edge pieces for a more formal look. York stone is equally at home on a farmhouse kitchen floor as it is on a garden terrace.
Limestone
Reclaimed limestone flagstones offer a softer, more muted palette than sandstone — typically in shades of cream, pale grey and silver. Limestone weathers beautifully and develops a gentle, aged appearance that suits both traditional and contemporary settings.
Limestone is a popular choice for interior floors, particularly in kitchens and hallways where its smooth, cool surface is practical and elegant. It also works well on sheltered patios and courtyards.
Sandstone
Beyond York stone, we stock other varieties of reclaimed sandstone in a range of colours from warm reds and browns to cool greys and greens. Sandstone is one of the most versatile natural paving materials, suitable for both interior and exterior use.
Reclaimed sandstone flagstones are hard-wearing, naturally slip-resistant and develop character with age. They are an excellent choice for garden paths, patios and driveways.

Choosing Your Flagstones
We recommend visiting our yard to select your flagstones in person. Natural stone varies enormously in colour, thickness and surface texture, and choosing the right slabs for your project is much easier when you can see and feel them.
If you cannot visit, send us your project details and photos and we will do our best to recommend suitable stone from our current stock. We can also send photos of available slabs.
Delivery Available
